Biography
Dr. Evaldas Stankevičius defended his PhD dissertation in the field of laser technologies in 2014. His work was recognized as one of the best in the category of physical, technological, and agricultural sciences in the national competition “Best Dissertation 2014” organized by LJMS, where he became a laureate. He had research internships at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH, Greece), Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien, Austria), AIMEN Research Center (Spain), and Laser Zentrum Hannover (Germany). Dr. Stankevičius has received four awards for scientific presentations at international conferences, won first place in the INFOBALT 2016 scholarship competition, and has been a laureate of the Young Scientists Scholarship of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences as well as a scholarship recipient of the World Federation of Scientists. Currently, he leads and supervises a research group consisting of three PhD students, two Bachelor’s students, and one senior engineer. He has supervised seven Bachelor’s and six Master’s theses, in addition to numerous student research projects, summer internships, and volunteer placements at FTMC. Dr. Stankevičius has also served as the leader of more than ten research projects in the fields of photonics and laser technologies.
